The Sustainability Challenge for Water and Sanitation
Where water and sanitation solutions are in place, structures are failing to guarantee sustainability or equitable access. In areas of vulnerability, disasters, climatic shocks and conflicts exacerbate inequalities, accelerating the trend still further. Development and humanitarian programmes address these issues separately, but fail to create an integrated, sustainable solution.
